Sublimation
Sublimation is the process of printing ink onto special transfer paper using a special printing machine. When the ink from your special paper is heat pressed onto your t-shirt, fabric, mug, keychain etc. and reaches a certain high temperature, the ink is then transferred onto the item your pressing.
Screen Printing
Screen printing is a printing technique where a mesh is used to transfer ink onto a substrate, except in areas made impermeable to the ink by a blocking stencil. A blade or squeegee is moved across the screen to fill the open mesh apertures with ink, and a reverse stroke then causes the screen to touch the substrate momentarily along a line of contact. This causes the ink to wet the substrate and be pulled out of the mesh apertures as the screen springs back after the blade has passed. One color is printed at a time, so several screens can be used to produce a multi-colored image or design.
Screen Printed and Digital Heat Transfers
What is heat transfer printing? A means of transferring a design to a substrate using an intermediate step. In heat transfer printing, a design is printed in reverse (typically by screen printing) on a special release paper using a plastisol-based ink (or other type of sublimable dye). This is the cost effect way to go on smaller orders and specialty color & special effect digital designs.
DTF (Direct to Film) Printing
Direct to film (dtf) heat transfers are a great solution for your custom apparel full color graphics when you need lower quantities. These heat transfers are digitally printed. economical method for printing those multi-color specialty logos.
